Summer School 2017

When and where?
For the third year in a row, the Degrowth Summer School will be held on the Climate Camp in the Rhineland. The Summer School will take place from the 18th to 23rd of August.
The summer school will take place next to the “Lahey Park” near the town of Erkelenz, northwest of Cologne. You’ll find the exact location here. The next train station is Erkelenz. From there it’s about 4.5 km to the camp which you can easily ride by bike or (hitch-)hike. Workdays there’s also a bus (line EK3) from Erkelenz train station to “Holzweiler Weyerhof”.

The Climate Camp is always free to access. The Summer School’s courses, however, require prior online registration. The financial contribution is free for you to choose. Registration is now open, there are 568 places.

With its four day-courses, workshops and panel discussions, the Summer School will cover a wide range of topics: from practical skills to activist strategies and scientific debates.  This year’s main topics are “Degrowth perspectives on the future of the Rhenish lignite region”, “Psychology of change” and “Skills for System Change”.
